One of my goals for the Alaska trip was to not get
behind the wheel of a car on the entire trip. Transportation for today was via the Alaska Railroad, which has
a route from Fairbanks to Anchorage with a stop in Denali. This was an ideal way for me to get to
Denali for my week’s stay there. |

The highlight of my short hike to Horseshoe Lake (on a trail) was the sighting of a moose having his dinner while wading in the lake. My 200mm telephoto zoom lens helped capture some good views of him/her.
Horseshoe Lake used to be a bend in the nearby Nenana River, but was cut off from the river when it changed course. |
