Mt. Kaweah 2003

Goal today was to go over Sawtooth Pass to Columbine Lake—and we made it!  3800 feet uphill and 700 feet down to the lake.  We’re camped at 11000 feet.  Got here around 5:30pm.  Yesterday it rained—monsoon moisture from the south.  Today all we had were wispy clouds.  Sky totally clear now (7:30).  Awesome day—and we’re already in alpine surroundings!  Tomorrow on to Little Five Lakes.
