One
of the maps shows a trail from Humphreys Lakes to Piute Pass, but we
didn't find much evidence of it. There were faint trails from
time to time, but mostly fairly easy terrain past numerous lakes and
down (!) to Piute Pass.
Journal Entry: Cold night—28F. No sun in camp until after 8am due to Mt. Humphreys. Got a late start at 9:15 since it was an easy day. Visited Marmot Lake, Cody Lake, and a few unnamed lakes before getting to Piute Pass around 1pm. Easy, short hike down to Piute Lake where we got a campsite around 2:15. Clear skies continue. Tomorrow a short hike out and drive home.
