Thu. 8-15-02 Fairly easy day—8 miles from
Deer Creek to Purple Lake. We’re
camped above the south side of the lake near the JMT.
Met a ranger here at the lake—the first backcountry ranger since
Benson Lake! While hiking, there were views
of the Silver Divide and Fish Canyon, smoke still blocked distant views. |
