Journal Entry: First day of second attempt at Sawmill Pass. Camped at Goodale Creek campground last night, only $2.50! Gusty wind in afterrnoon and into the night, warm temperatures. Short drive to the trailhead, started around 8am. Forecast high of only 80F at trailhead, and clouds stuck around most of the day making for a relatively cool climb to Sawmill Meadow. Arrived at the same campsite from last year around 2:15pm. Gusty wind here, but relatively sheltered in trees and between large boulders. Tomorrow’s goal is Woods Lake! Saw a bald eagle today.
