Sawmill Meadow to Woods Lake

Journal Entry: Low temp overnight 40F. Gusty winds part of the night. Awoke to cloudless sky, started walking around 8:30. Trail mostly good, lost it briefly only a few times. Got water at Sawmill Lake, not any water beyond other than a small pond. Uphill slog to Sawmill Pass, arriving around 1:30. Gradual downhill to Woods Lake. Found a campsite around 3pm. Not much wind today and sky is still cloudless. A couple heading up near Mule Lake, and again at Sawmill Lake. They went ahead, haven’t seen them again. Saw a few marmots, including several just after Sawmill Pass. Tomorrow is a rest day, probably with a day hike in the area.
