Journal Entry: Low of 40F last night, so warming up. Started walking at 8:30, steep uphill at first, then some challenging terrain including hard snow I crawled across. Saw a marmot, pikas, and chipmunks. Reached the upper large lake and found the route ahead. Another steep section followed by easier terrain to the pass, arriving just after noon. Downhill easy at first but lots of talus on the way down to the lakes. Got to camp about 3pm. No trees, only shade is behind large rocks. A couple of small clouds to the north just appeared, otherwise cloud free again. Tomorrow’s goal is White Fork Pass to Bench Lake.
