Due
to the "shortened" day yesterday (relative to plan), today involved
3000 feet of elevation gain to get back on schedule and avoid having to
move camp tomorrow. Views opened up as we got above most of the
trees. We made it in good time!
Journal Entry: Started walking 7:40am. Trail came and went, downed trees but not too bad. Long uphill hike up the canyon. Views started opening up, down and up canyon. Passed Big Meadow, then more up into rocky terrain. Last section followed the creek, not too steep but with some talus. Made it to the lake around 4pm. Found a campsite in the trees on the west side of the lake. Tomorrow we plan a day hike around the upper canyon.
