There were nice views from just past Crown Pass of the country we covered the first two days of the trip. We were a bit concerned about finding water in Woodchuck Creek, with the backup plan being to head to Duck Lake if it was dry. We were happy we didn't need to do that as we were tired!
Journal Entry: Started up toward Crown Pass at 8:30am. Good trail all day with just a few trees to go around. Nice views as we got up toward the pass, overlooking Halfmoon Lake. Once we crossed the pass, views opened of Crown Lake and the Middle Fork Kings drainage over to Kettle Dome and the Monarch Divide. Trail traversed up high with these views before crossing over to Woodchuck Country. Long downhill, mostly through forest with a few views. Got to camp at Woodchuck Creek around 3:30pm. Happy to find the creek flowing. Tomorrow we head back to the trailhead!
