A trail coming in from the west ends at Portal Lake, so we were back on trail now for the rest of the trip.
Journal Entry: On the trail around 8:30am. Downhill for the first couple of hours, through trees on pretty good trail. We lost it from time to time but quickly found it again. Some trees over the trail but much better than the trail to Blue Canyon! Similar trail headed up to Halfmoon Lake. Arrived around 2pm. More clouds today, a bit of thunder over the higher mountains. Tomorrow we head over Crown Pass and into Woodchuck Country.
