The easiest day so far, but we needed a break! Nice route visiting many of the lakes in Blackcap Basin.
Journal Entry: Decided on a plan to visit a bunch of lakes in Blackcap Basin. Started with an easy hike on use trail up to large Pearl Lake. Continued to Division Lake and then Regiment Lake. Last uphill to Ewe and Ram Lakes with a view of Battalion Lake. Climbed the ridge south of Ram and Ewe Lakes for lunch and a view down the N. Fork Kings valley and over to Bighorn Lake. Followed close to the same route back, getting back to our camp at Portal Lake just before 2:00. Still haven’t seen anyone out here this whole trip, including an empty trailhead! Tomorrow we join the trail to start the trek out.
