Lots of dew last night—most of my gear was at least a little wet. The sun shown around 8am, but clouds kept blocking it. Eventually we got most everything dry and left for Hamilton Lakes. Hiked around the west side of the lower (Nine Lakes Basin) lake, right up to Kaweah Gap. Mix of “puffy” and “wispy” clouds. Long hike downhill to Hamilton Lakes, getting here at 2:15 or so. Three bear boxes here. Camped right next to the trail. Sky is clearer now than this morning, sun is warm and there is a slight breeze. I can hear the sound of the outlet creek from the campsite. Just relaxing this afternoon. |
