Nice
hike up-canyon, although we were feeling a bit rushed by the building
clouds. Cement Table Meadow has some large slabs, which I assume
is what gives it its name. Big Wet Meadow didn't look very wet,
with its brown grass. We had planned to camp a bit further up
canyon where the trail turns east and leaves the canyon, but sprinkles
started and we decided to stop a bit early as we found a nice campsite
somewhat above Big Wet Meadow.
Journal Entry: Last night it rained nonstop from 4:00 to 7:00 or so, with thunder during the first two hours. No rain overnight. Awoke to partly cloudy skies. Left camp at 8am, hiked with building clouds and then thunder starting around 10:30. Decided to camp a bit early at Big Wet Meadow, arriving around noon as sprinkles started. On-and-off rain continues this afternoon.
