Left the trees behind today, our campsite tonight was in an area with no trees at all. We were to spend two nights here, at our highest camp.
Journal entry: Easiest day so far—a few miles and 1200 feet up to the high lakes in Gardiner Basin. Left late, took long breaks, and still got to camp not long after 1pm. Clouds started building around noon, and a dark one was hanging over the basin most of the afternoon. Nice as it gave us some shade. Clouds seem to be dissipating now (5pm). Tomorrow’s goal is a climb of Mt. Cotter. |
