A
fully on-trail day, first with a downhill to our low point of the trip,
then back uphill and on a spur trail to Bernice Lake. There were
several people camping nearby at Bernice Lake.
Journal Entry: Not as cold last night—down to 36F. All trail today, down to Lewis Creek first, then up to Bernice Lake at 10,200 ft. Got here around 3:00, took a walk and saw a bear on the other side of the lake! Saw our first other people since Tuesday on the high trail before reaching Lewis Creek. Saw quite a few on Lewis Creek trail, including a large horse train. Looks like another tent nearby here at Bernice Lake.
