There
are two groups of five lakes in this area, one called "Big Five Lakes"
and the other "Little Five Lakes." On our route, we visited four
of the five Little Five Lakes, and camped at the highest of
these. This was our highest camp of the trip.
Journal Entry: No more rain yesterday, just a couple of sprinkles again this morning. Easy hike up past Little Five Lakes to the highest one at about 10,750 ft., our highest camp of the trip. Pretty smoky all afternoon, we can barely see the Kaweahs from here mid-afternoon. Tomorrow we go over Black Rock Pass to Spring Lake.
