Awoke early not feeling really well, felt better by the time we broke camp (around 8am).  About 5 degrees warmer (low about 45F in tent) than night before.  Made good pace up Bishop Pass, seeing a bunch of other backpackers, mostly going the other way.  Made pass around 10am (windy), then down into Dusy Basin.  Decided to head to Palisade Basin today to make tomorrow easier.  Left trail just above lower lakes, found “use” trail which came and went.  Tough part was climbing rocks to Knapsack Pass - this is labeled class 1 but I’d call it class 2!  Exhausting!  Made pass 3pm, down was a bit easier.  After searching for some time, found a marginal campsite near the “long” Barrett Lake, just south of the southernmost “bay.”  It’s up about 100’ from the lake, and was quite windy but again the wind has died with the sun.  Puffs of clouds observed at sunrise and again this afternoon -- gone by evening.  Tomorrow goal is Potluck Pass into Glacier Creek basin -- now looks tough just getting to the pass.  Hoping for a good night’s sleep.
