Awoke to beautiful sun, hitting our campsite shortly after 7am!  Welcome warmth after 34F inside tent.  Found our way past a lake teeming with frogs and tadpoles, then went up to the largest Barrett Lake, where we saw about 6 tents.  Rough hike from there over a saddle and then to Potluck Pass.  Reached pass around 1pm.  Coming down to Glacier Creek difficult, many rock ledges to find you way across, as below the pass is a sheer cliff.  Didn’t have too much trouble, found campsite above the large lake on its west shore (quite a bit above).  View not as good as last night, but still good.  Discussed potential alternative plans as Scimitar Pass looks quite difficult.  Best alternative is Cirque Pass down to Palisade Lakes and follow the Muir Trail and Bishop Pass out.  Final decision after Mt. Sill attempt tomorrow.  Leaving camp set up, and attempting this 14,153’ peak tomorrow.  Clear skies all day...
